Alberto Cairo, PhD | Conference Chair
Dr. Alberto Cairo is a Knight Chair in Infographics and Data Visualization at UM’s School of Communication. In addition to his role as Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) Visualization program director. Cairo is a journalist who has award-winning graphics teams in Spain, Brazil, and the United States. He’s the author of four books:
In 2025 Cairo is launching the Open Visualization Academy, an open source repository of knowledge about information design and data visualization. |

Evelyn Cruz | Event Logistics (IDSC)
Evelyn Cruz serves as the Director of Business Operations at the University of Miami’s Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing. In this role, she leads strategic planning, financial oversight, research administration, and human resources, contributing significantly to the Institute’s academic and research goals. Her areas of expertise include developing scalable business models, managing complex grant portfolios, overseeing long-range budgeting, and ensuring compliance with federal and institutional regulations. Evelyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Florida Atlantic University. |

Jacqueline Green-Allen | Event Logistics (IDSC)
Jacqueline Green-Allen is a seasoned Senior Administrative Assistant and Events Coordinator at the University of Miami, with over a decade of experience supporting executive leadership across multiple university divisions. Since 2019, she has been an integral part of the Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC), where she provides high-level administrative support and leads the coordination of key events, conferences, and strategic initiatives. Throughout her career, Jacqueline has worked closely with CEOs, board members, and senior leaders, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities and long-term planning efforts. She is known for her attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to manage complex schedules and communications with discretion and efficiency. Jacqueline’s commitment to excellence and her collaborative spirit have made her a trusted resource across the university. Her work at IDSC continues to support its mission of advancing data science research, education, and innovation. |
