C+J 2025 Submission Form

The Computation + Journalism 2025 Symposium program will include a few keynote speakers in general sessions; some invited sessions; some contributed talks, papers, sessions, and/or workshops; and some social outings over the course of the two-day event. The Program Committee is open to submissions on topics outside the scope of the theme of “Data Journalism Under Autocracy.”

Submissions Deadline—August 15, 2025

Contributed Talk—Organized into sessions by the Program Committee and likely run in parallel | Submit an abstract of at most 250 words (in addition, include keywords)

Contributed Session—Made up of 3-4 individual speakers | The session organizer should submit an abstract (at most 250 words, include keywords) summarizing the topic, and each speaker should provide the session organizer with an abstract  (at most 250 words, plus keywords). PLEASE NOTE: Submit all abstracts as a single .pdf document.

Contributed Workshop—Hands-on training relevant to journalists or researchers | Submit an abstract of at most 250 words (in addition, include keywords).

Short Paper—For review, submit a paper of up to five pages in length (in addition, include keywords). These will be reviewed for inclusion and divided into sessions given a special place in the program.
